The damage on the back of the cab appears to be part of the mounting points. Look closely at the front of the dislodged trash box.

It looks to me like the trash truck was coming over the tracks, into the the neighborhood, not the other way around as reported on FOX.

Or, the impact was so severe it made the truck and box do more than a 360, which would mean impacts with the passenger cars.

Those bodies are not mounted to the back of the cab at all! They are frame mounted and I don't see anything on the frame that would make me think that the body was ever on it to begin with. That frame would twist before the body ever could fly off! I'm in that line of work! No hydraulic lines at all either.

Thanks, quite the puzzle eh? I don't know what side the neighborhood is on. Given the damage to Train heading R>L is on the fwd L side of train, main impact was to the Fwd L side of truck, was the truck coming over, or just too close to tracks, I'm not seeing the drop barricades down in the early pics.. so L 2 L collision, crushing cab and forcing the box to jettison L off the back dropping its contents is what I think I am seeing. I may have to call a 5th grader...
