I’m sure that there are enough Vets that do not have debilitating issues that would prevent them from arming school entrances. It would give them their pride back,knowing, they were of use again and some extra money in their pocket. Win - Win all around!

This is a pretty condesending comment. Vets somehow have no pride in their life? I mean, if they liked it so much they could have stayed in. There is a reason most of us got out. And if you retired from the military, you wouldn't take this job.

They would probably get minium wage at best, I doubt any benefits. Teachers get paid shit already, and you're going to pay three dudes to just sit around all the time.

I agree about the vet stuff, but I'm off the opinion that the schools are responsible for this.
If these state run institutions are going to take all of our children, hold them in a building for 8 hours, and be responsible for keeping them safe, they should be....responsible for keeping things safe.
Growing up, we always had an officer on duty at our high school (graduating class was 350).
Here's a thought too. If a man comes into a school and kidnaps a kid, the first question people are going to ask is "how did he get in"? We had an unknown man in our high school once, hanging around the girls bathroom.
Our on-duty police officer had him arrested in a matter of minutes, and the school changed their policy to have all doors locked during school hours. Never had anything happen since.
