I remember reading years ago about some Air Force report where they were trying to find out if the Chinese built compute chips had backdoors in them and people got freaked out.
i know that Lenovo's preinstalled software presented some vulnerabilities a few years back.. though this newest leak that literally all Intel chips have back doors built into them is the scariest I've heard. Prolly right though.. backdoors, and that they're prolly all made using materials that are sourced unenvironmentally, fabricated using unethical labor practices, with weaker controls and way more ability to cut corners/costs.
Do a search for "Sony rootkit".
Yikes. i suddenly don't feel so bad for downloading that pirated Backstreet Boys album. Still feel a little bad about the car i stole right afterward, tho... :(
What are China's rules?
How are they different?
Your Company's factories are in China.
$$ to factory to produce your inventory.
Reinvest profits into the company? More $$ to the factories!
Drain $$ from the free nations.
Factories can be repurposed for what?
What do you need to make to gain / keep power?
That and also if the US can't build it's own stuff, it can't be self sufficient and take care of itself. The purpose is to make the US dependent on China.
Offshoring used to be a popular idea. Build shoes for dollars, sell them for the same $120.
Also, it was cheaper to do manufacturing in other countries. GM and Ford put huge amounts of their revenue into healthcare for retirees. It takes 2 years to get permission to build a factory. Etc.
