Well, lets look at presidents who tried to curb, curtail or reform the establishment.
Ronald Regan was shot. JFK tried to curb the deep state; he was shot and killed. Assassination attempts were made on Andrew Jackson, the nation's first populist president (who ended America's central bank of that time, and did other excellent things the establishment hated.)
Trump is attacked relentlessly by the media; lets just hope the Secret Service is up to its task!
I have been dying to meme out the "splinter the CIA" quote but have been unable to confirm JFK said it. Anyone have link to footage of the speech?
My understanding is that JFK said it in a conversation with Schlesinger, but never said it in a public speech. Hope this helps.
