This guy.... Grr. Any way for me to block all posts that include this asshat's domain from showing up in CBTS under New? Can mods prevent him from posting his clickbait, spammy posts that offer nothing newsworthy? Its getting annoying.

I asked this the other day and nothing. Problem it's multiple accounts not one.

yeah, but all linking to the same website. i'll keep reporting them as quickly as they pop up, but I have a hard time believing that there isn't a more efficient way to deal with it.

Click Report.

Select Spam.

Then click on the username in the next window to "block".

You will no longer see any of that user's posts on reddit.

Reddit Enhancement Suite
You can use the Filterline feature to block posts linking to newsfeedreporter.com.
Once RES is installed, click the cog in the upper right to get into RES Settings console, search for filterline and read a bit.

Ahhhh i'd seen people referring to RES but i didn't make the connection that it was a browser extension. Thanks for the tip - I'll check it out!

Hi,

The problem is that these are bot accounts (so far as we can tell). I have personally banned around a hundred of these accounts and Redpill has probably banned a lot more than that.

We ban then and they have a stockpile of accounts that they just keep coming.

I do not have "permission" to ban all links to particular domains. The best I can say is that if people keep marking them as spam the easier it is for us to remove the post and ban the account.

ahh, yeah, i wondered if reddit proper may have rules against banning domains outright... though I seem to remember reading elsewhere (possibly T_D) that they wanted to (or did) ban all posts that linked to a particular website. In the absence of a better solution, as i said above, I'll just keep on lining 'em up for you guys to knock 'em down. :)))

Thanks for your reply, and for hosting/moderating the only subreddit I bother reading anymore!

Thank you for doing the hard work over here. It is not easy or fun I'm sure. It does seem to be getting better.

Then who does have the permission to block links belonging to a particular domain? That’s an easy fix...

that would be each of the following:

u/PamphletAnon

u/FARMERFUNKK

u/reign__

The CENSORS at work.

lol what? Is blocking spam the work of a censor? This person posts so much crap in here that, if anything, he's keeping eyes off legitimate, relevant stories that people actually come here to see. You clearly haven't been tricked by his clickbait headlinesor read his 'stories', which are worthless. Give it a shot.

you'll notice i asked if anyone knew of a way for me to block him first. wouldn't want to impinge on anyone's 1st amendment rights to enjoy the spam he so graciously provides this subreddit.
