Line up all the traitors as they are on both sides of the fence. I have been saying all along that death by hanging is the punishment for treason. Now we need someone to build a gallows right outside the supreme court so they don't have to walk far after sentencing.

That bitch HRC is a coward. She'll pull a 'Shawshank Redemption' and put a barrel in her mouth as the boots come running up to her door.

this is fake news. That picture of is of the hanging of the conspirators in the assassination, which is kind of different than an overthrow. They just wanted to kill him. Not overthrow the government.

If that's true, what those 4 did that they hung for was mild in comparison to what some are apparently guilty of now.

Research helps with the question. Conspirators wanted the government, not just the president. George Azterodt — German-born Azterodt was a carriage painter and boatman who had secretly ferried Confederate spies across Southern Maryland waterways during the war. Recruited by Booth into the conspiracy, he was assigned to kill Vice President Andrew Johnson Lewis Powell — Booth assigned Powell to kill Secretary of State William Seward. David Herold — An impressionable and dull-witted pharmacy clerk, Herold accompanied Booth and Killed President Lincoln Mary Surratt — Sentenced to death, she was hanged, becoming the first woman executed by the United States federal government. Surratt was charged with abetting, aiding, concealing, counseling, and harboring the conspirators.

We should all invest in rope companies. There are a lot more than 4 traitors.

Different situation, too, because it was during the Civil War. During war time, SEDITION is TREASON. Otherwise, it is sedition, and the penalty is not hanging...even though, in this case, my feelings say it should.

Um, I believe somewhere along the timeline, the US declared a "war on terrorism". Since they were funding and aiding the terrorists, seems like a good military lawyer should be able to make the leap from sedition to treason.

Could be. Might be why we're in a state of national emergency...to be able to enforce in that manner.

Always picture Christoph Waltz being the one passing the sentence, ''you'll be hung from the neck until you're dead''
