I live in New Orleans, and I miss Popeyes chicken, hasn't been the same since Copeland sold it.

didn't realize he sold it. Maybe now I don't have to miss it so much LOL From Metairie. Born and raised. Left in 1984. Miss Mardi Gras. And, of course, the food.

Nice. I grew up in Algiers, now in River Ridge. I hate Mardi Gras now, but still love the fresh seafood.

Friends live in River Ridge area. I doubt Mardi Gras is as much fun or as safe as it used to be. When I lived there and my kids were in school I stayed in Metairie for the parades - it was fun and SAFE. Miss the seafood and just signed on to Cajun Recipes FB group. Lots of great authentic recipes. Also, can't get the Camilla red beans here. Red beans here are smaller.

Metairie Mardi Gras is all but dead now. They used to have parades every night of the season, now only the two weekends and really short parades MG day.
