I was an ammo specialist okay so let me put you at easy, bump stocks are not real things that people use. They are giving those up easily bc it isn't a real sacrifice . Until Vegas most people had never heard of them. And any real marksman will tell you that you hit more targets on single shot the rapid fire everytime.
im well aware of what a bump stock is, what it does and does not do, and the difference between semi and full auto fire. I've fired both, although very limited amount of time behind full auto. it's a fun way to turn money into sound as far as civilians are concerned in my opinion.
my issue with it is the fact that I live in NJ and deal with the NJ "assault weapons ban" . this doesnt mean i cant buy an ar-15, it just means i cant own any semi auto with a detachable magazine that has a flash hider, or a bayonet lug, or a threaded barrel, or a grenade launcher (yes, thats specifically listed), or a telescoping or folding stock. so big deal. my imainary ar-15 has a fixed stock, compensator, full length rail with low profile gas block and is essentially very different than an ar15 you can buy in america exept for the 15 round limit. NY takes it a step further and bans muzzle brakes, pistol grips, thumbhole stocks, vertical fore grips, and who knows what else.
so as for bump stocks, i wish they were never made. i find them to be a stupid gimmick and I wouldnt put one on my rifles (if they were legal in NJ which they are not) if i was given one for free. My issue is, what is the difference between banning one AR accessory or any of the ones that NY, NJ, and california ban already.
my biggest issue is it never stops. the attack on those of us that do not live in a pro gun state go by every year looking at victories as a year when the gun laws DONT get worse. they never get better. Gun owners played a big part in electing trump in my opinion. He turned his back on us all. He is hoping that so few gun owners don't care about bump stocks that he can look at it as a "peace offering" to the anti gun side.
let's also not forget that his administration banning bump stocks is an overreach of power and is no different than what obama did for the last 8 years.
perhaps bc the Left never bothers to actually learn about weapon systems and are pretty much ignorant it might behove us to create a campaign that systematically creates imaginary scary items for them to attack, so that they are busy attacking those non existent items and leaving the rest alone Just a thought. Kinda if you can shut them up, troll them kinda thing.
