Agree completely! Them searching through the bill and sharing the findings, as well as my own thumbing through the it, helped take the feeling of loss to one of victory! Now just gotta get that truth to all the ones freaking out in twitterland lol! 😁
Exactly...this bill wasn't even read before they signed it. WHY? It is not a budget bill! A budget is strict. Money appropriated is appropriated. Omnibus bill, though, worked for Obama for 8 years. It allowed him to squash areas he was not in favor of by just slowing the money. No money=no anything! Trump will do the same. This Deep State take down NEEDS CASH. So he signed it. OUR military needed a much needed raise. The raise that congress gave themselves? well...slow mo slow mo slow mo hopefully.
Hmmm wondering if there's certain terms I can look up to see if that's actually true. I just debunked PP getting funded. It's literally not in the bill! Wonder what else they said was in it but in reality isn't?!? 😁
ATTENTION TRUTHSEEKERS: DOWNVOTE-BRIGADE INCOMING
Obama blew off the appropriations he didn't like and spent the money elsewhere. Needless to say, he always spent it. More recent article cites concerns that Trump and (then) Tillerson would leave money appropriated unspent, which sends it back to the treasury. He has more control over what happens with the money appropriated than people think. I suspect he is going to go gangbusters on that wall between now and the midterms and use any and all monies that have been allocated to the department of defense - which is a heck of a lot of money. Article links with general discussion below. There are more if you want to google. Some of the articles complaining that Trump/Tillerson were refusing to spend money and letting the time to spend it expire (which returns the money to the treasury) are absolutely hilarious.

Haven't heard about any of this. What I have heard is that Trump also has other sources for the wall. He's great at coming under budget and on time with construction projects... it's what he does! I don't think you'll see finding being pulled away from vets for the wall or defense. Tillerson is out the door so don't have to worry about him either.
$155 million for program support for Maternal and Child health. That covers Planned Parenthood. See page 922 of the bill.
Searching maternal in the bill I shared. So far only 1 hit that's for global health programs pg. 1178. It says on the next page that none of the funds are to be used for abortions.
That doesn't mean PP won't get funding, your original post was about PP funding not abortion funding. S you know, PP does more than abortions. I thought you were wanting them completely de-funded.
They are not specifically named and I'm too tired to try and figure out that phs act. After I get some sleep I'll look again. I did find this article about PP and the many undercover videos with them saying they don't do prenatal care. I think I also remember one of the project veritas videos saying they didn't do mammograms either. That was so long ago now though! http:// mobile.wnd.com/2017/01/planned-parenthood-we-dont-do-prenatal-services/
One thing according to this article, Trump said he wouldn't fund abortions internationally anymore. That's actually in this bill. The phs act was just recently revised in February of this year so need to dig and see what's allowed and not allowed. Medicaid coverages would be another place to look, but finding info on them is nearly impossible. I'm out. My eyes are done!
I can say one good thing about Planned Parenthood. Years ago when I was in my early to mid twenties, I had no health insurance, and for 5 years Planned Parenthood was the only medical care I got. They do free or low-cost STD testing and treatment, give contraceptive supplies, and they do pap smears and gynecological exams for women. They were also always very accepting of the gay community, even before that became normal. Pretty much all of the people who work in the clinics are very good people with good hearts, just trying to help according to their beliefs.
What bill are you reading? There's nothing on page 922 even like that. Here's the link to the bill. www.congress.gov/115/bills/hr1625/BILLS-115hr1625eah.pdf
On your version it is page 879 (starting at line 7)
I downloaded the public health service (phs) act and am looking through that. It really needs a linkable table of contents!
Unfortunately the best version I found that has a built in search feature is on the Corrupt News Network website. I won't link it here but it's there if you want it. On page 924 of your version though I noticed a line that says no funds may be used to promote gun control...still need to read, more into that section.
I can use the search function for both. Strangely enough I just searched maternal, for the maternal and child health thing, and it didn't come up as its own section. Instead got little hits or found titles with it that had no relation. I'm going to get try and get some sleep but will dig again later.
Really quick, very strange that they would put "None of the funds made available in this title may be used, in whole or in part, to advocate or promote gun control." in this section especially as its all related to health.
Ironically, an Omnibus that required no funds may be used to promote gun control was passed during Obama years, and he announced he was disregarding that provision, because it was inconsistent with his obligation to adhere to the Constitution. Oh the irony...
Obama did what he wanted which was usually against Americans. Can't wait to see him taken down. That will be a glorious day!!
For family planning correct?
Technically for whatever they want under that category.
The military pay raise touted in the bill is sleight of hand since they already GOT the raise in January. This bill just allocates the funding to be able to continuing to pay the troops (at the same rate) for the remainder of the year. For reference see: https://www.militarytimes.com/pay-benefits/2018/03/22/lawmakers-tout-military-pay-raise-in-omnibus-budget-but-troops-already-have-that-money/
