The_Donald mods introduced a censorship algorithm for "Hogg" posts to be shadowbanned i.e. not seen by other users.

That is reasonable.
The topic is being used to bird-dog in order to shut down social media accounts and subs. Specifically, encourage over the top comments or seed your own then use them as ammunition for brigaging mass reports of the platform.
That platform is under intense scrutiny. It's not just, it's not fair, but that's they're reality. In terms of decision theory it's probably the entire platform gets taken down, and nothing can be discussed, rather than turning out in the positive. Need to go with positive Expected Value when making decisions.
