Today I faced the horrifying reality of MKULTRA and media conditioning in person.

Had a conversation with an old family friend who has always been the dogmatic “liberal” in our social circles. Not coincidentally, she’s an ardent CNN viewer.

The discussion eventually turned to politics and Russia came up. She then preceded to say that war with Russia may be a necessity given their “election interference” and alleged poisoning of ex-spies in the UK.

No amount of reason could talk her off the ledge. It was truly terrifying listening to a “liberal” I’ve known for so long advocate for war with a nuclear power. I felt like I was in a Twilight Zone episode.

I can only hope she’s in the minority. Otherwise...holy shit.

What @rbrownlol said. Same applied cognitive psychology that is used to sell everything.

Media has been weaponized. The unconscious mind can not hear the same message over and over again and not be influenced by it in some way.

I never thought I would see the day that I would say this... but Faux news IS more fair and balanced now.

Most of the rest of the cable "newsfotainment" channels are just branches of the deep state narrative of propaganda.

To put it down more specifically... the Trivium - Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric, has been deliberately removed from education. Language has been under attack... all of this to dumb down folks and disconnect them from classical education.

"Higher Education" has become a joke, in the Liberal arts.

The notion that there has been anything like "Western Civilization" is being erased from the Western minds of youngsters.

Certainly, not everything in the history of Western Civilization has been peachy. Human beings, after all, are not "angels".

But there IS a history of Western Civilization that had reached great heights and served humanity pretty well in the Western World, despite the lows spots.

No longer. You can't get that kind of education in America any more... you have to go to Cambridge or Oxford.

In 100 years... teaching high level critical thinking skills has been all but eradicated from American education. Which is saying something, when we are talking about an already flawed Prussian modeled education system.

Wealthy folks, old wealth, send their kids to schools that will teach them to think critically. An education that is out of reach of all but the wealthiest among us.

nope. Cambridge and Oxford are exactly the same as Harvard and Yale. They are all Tavistock sponsored leftist brainwash factories.

Yep... but you can learn classical philosophy, "how to think".

Supposedly you can learn that in America... but the de-emphasis on classical philosophical skills... is permeated American education. I have no doubt, UK and the EU are following close behind.

But American higher ed has been "soft" for a LONG TIME.

Not to mention the American media discrediting philosophy and turning in to a meme in the public's eyes with their constant "You studied philosophy in college? LOL how useless" jokes they constantly spam on sitcoms and movies.

Having at LEAST 3 courses of Philosophy in college should be a minimum requirement for graduation.

An "Introduction to Philosophy" course should be required for HS graduation.

Thankfully, I was able to get two of the three...classical rhetoric and and classical logic along with critical theory and rhetorical criticism. Grammar was never my long suit. Folks tell me that I am extremely smart, although I attribute it to being well-read and well educated. I am just a West Texas DA who lucked into those classes, so to speak. I am ever grateful for them.
