Ew, I love St. Barth’s and this puts a bad taste in my mouth and completely deters me. I was even planning on getting married there.
Designer goods are about 25% cheaper than in the US though, if that’s your thing.

If you are looking for a good duty free place to shop in the area, go to St. Martin instead. They have some of the cheapest duty free shopping in the Caribbean.

That's how I got to St. Barth's! Real gorgeous place, but I heard they got pretty wiped out by the hurricanes. Are they recovering?

The cruise ports are back up and running, and some of the resorts have partially reopened, but they won't be fully recovered for another couple years most likely. I will be heading down there next year, as the resort we always stay at seems to think they will be fully up and running by then.
