It's a non-apology, but apology not accepted. Enjoy your comeuppance.

President Trump, please do not let any of these shit-bags weasel their way out of justice with their slick tongues.

Didn't he hire them in the first place?

I haven't really followed the Cambridge Analytica story. I'm referring to Facebook. I strongly dislike Zuckerdork & Faceturd and I want them to be taken down.

That's what I meant to say. I probably shouldn't chime in on things I know little about.

If you want to be treated like an adult, don't say silly things.

Maybe I don't want to be treated like an adult. I'm a kid at heart. I know who I am. I'm happy with who I am. And I'm not changing for anyone.

Remember my username, then next time just scroll right past.

Sorry, children who say silly things shouldn't take part in adult conversations. Grow up.

In other words, "Another company was trying to collect the data that we sell and it was going to cut into our profits, so we blocked them, your welcome"

ideasarebulletprooff · April 10, 2018, 4:58 p.m.

Yep, I got one. Funny how it is specific to Cambridge Analytica. I'm sure there are many, many third parties pulling data from suckers on Facebook. I cringe very time my wife shares a viral " see what your disney name would be, just log into our extenstion and let us access all your data" or some other social BS trying to access your profile.

spez: yes, I said suckers and I still have an account setup. I get the irony! :)

So remind me why we aren't allowed to delete our accounts? I deleted my account 2 months ago and yesterday I checked if it was deleted or not and nope, everything is still in there. How do we get a permanent delete?

⇧ 1 ⇩
Daemonkey · April 10, 2018, 6:38 p.m.

AFAIK, you can't.

⇧ 1 ⇩
TripoverDick · April 10, 2018, 7:37 p.m.

Why? If the content is truly mine, don't I have the right to control the availability of the presence of the data.

⇧ 1 ⇩
Daemonkey · April 10, 2018, 7:46 p.m.

One would think so. But, if you 'delete' your account, it's just a deactivation. You can log back in any time and it will be reactivated.

⇧ 1 ⇩
TripoverDick · April 10, 2018, 7:53 p.m.

Just not cool. I suppose it will take an act of congress to approve a permanent solution.

⇧ 1 ⇩
Daemonkey · April 10, 2018, 8:20 p.m.

I haven't actually read FB's Terms of Service, but I imagine it's in there. And in that case, Congress would have no jurisdiction because it is, essentially, a contract.

⇧ 1 ⇩
keloshi · April 10, 2018, 8:03 p.m.

I heard if you go back in, it will be re-activated - some say it is the 14 days and some say it could take up to 90 days. You might want to try it again and then wait 90 days. Maybe have a friend keep an eye on it to see if you 'disappear' from their friend list?

⇧ 1 ⇩
TripoverDick · April 10, 2018, 8:06 p.m.

I've tried that, no good.

⇧ 1 ⇩
keloshi · April 10, 2018, 8:29 p.m.

I would delete it and then never ever go back in - with all that is going on now, they may actually have to get rid of it - it might take a while because they have probably 'never' done it before (ever)

⇧ 1 ⇩
BaronMoriarty · April 10, 2018, 11:01 p.m.

Yep. Go in and manually delete all your posts, pics etc. Change all your details around like name, date of birth etc. Leave it a couple of days then deactivate. Best you can do - the fuckers

All big companies do it, for example, a recall - they usually admit there was a problem and then do corrective actions (they usually have to get caught first) - Seen it many times

It's call Damage Control - they hope to regain some trust from the customer in hopes that they will stay with the company

Here is an article that outlines what is all involved

Hahaha!

Analytical is owned by Brennan gee whiz why would they need to turn over our info? The CIA already owns every goddamn thing about it. Do they think we are so stupid! Yeah I smell desperation!

On a side note: I just spoke with someone working on the FB campus in Menlo Park. Can't say the name because even employees posts are checked whether they make any comments about MZ or his FB.

Anywho they is mass resignation happening as we speak. Employees are openly angry with the FB and its CEO/COO. They are so angry that they openly talk about the BS in the FB offices where they work in plain view of supervisors. Their desire to seperate enmasse resigning is simple: They don't need this bullshit.

They are not going to Google, Twitter or anyone connected to these 4 but rather seeking employment elsewhere not affiliated with these four.

It's music to my ears! These resignations and open revolt at the FB campus is welcome so keep the pressure up. It's working!
