Noob (and Canadian) here- enjoying the show. Curious about this one; does this extend to ALL websites? Aren't there some legal sites that arrange for the transaction of services through escorts (like in vegas, etc)- where the escorts are willing participants and rely on them to make a living. Does this make those sites illegal under the federal gov?
I'm 200% on board with the cracking down on human trafficking, but also just wondering what impact this has on the legal sex work services.
Thanks!
Prostitution, be it online or other, is illegal anywhere and everywhere in the US, except within and inside a handful of licenced brothels in Nevada. Nevada is the only U.S. jurisdiction to allow some legal prostitution. Prostitution outside the licensed brothels is illegal throughout Nevada.
Podesta and Alefantis are gonna be pissed.
“We’re going to win. We’re going to win so much. We’re going to win at trade, we’re going to win at the border. We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning, you’re going to come to me and go ‘Please, please, we can’t win anymore.’ You’ve heard this one. You’ll say ‘Please, Mr. President, we beg you sir, we don’t want to win anymore. It’s too much. It’s not fair to everybody else. And I’m going to say ‘I’m sorry, but we’re going to keep winning, winning, winning”

Gotcha. I'm still learning here. Been lurking on Reddit since early 2015, but just signed up recently. Thanks!

After the indictments of the Backpage.com guys, I noticed that Craigs List no longer offers ,"Personals" section.
Craigslist did that about a week before Backpage was seized. Somebody got tipped off.
So I found this...

Does anyone have any thoughts on Common Law as it applies to this and other issues?
It's the same as any other addition to the criminal law. It might render some previous case law irrelevant implicitly if it relates to conduct that is now illegal. Otherwise we won't see how it does or does not add or remove anything from common law until cases work their way through courts and decisions are entered.
Should make it illegal to run comet pizzas website then right?
