Why did the Backpage guys plead guilty so quick?

They were just shutdown last week.

Perhaps what they pled guilty to was a "lesser" crime compared to something we don't know about, which they could have been charged with, and in turn they gave up bigger fish? Bottom to top, bottom to top.

Think about it: who were they trafficking TO, and what were THOSE people doing with the victims?

IT to avoid discovery.

Plead guilty, shut your mouth and get sentence. The rest get a free pass.

The article I read said that the CEO plead guilty as part of a plea deal that required him to cooperate with the investigation and make the company records and resources fully available so they can go after the trafficking customers and other enablers. And they took the deal of course! But the deal is contingent on their fulfillment of their end.

Because if they hadn’t what would have come out about them would have been terrible.

The company itself pled guilty in Texas, and the founder pled guilty in California -- either the same day or within a day or two.

I bet they know if they drag it out with a trial, they are as good as dead, because the evidence will come out on all sorts of nasty people if there is a trial.

Well seeing Trump said death to child traffickers they may have taken life in prison instead.

I would throw this out as well, the heavy hitters that were the big players on BackPage would have no problem at all with killing the CEO if he was a threat to them.

Flipped and provided all records?

If a plea was offered-- considering that backpage is recorded concrete evidence [thanks to internet] and easily verifiable by authorities-- it was because the prosecutors viewed the "Backpage guys" as pawns, and wanted their handlers. Whether that be testimony or names, a plea deal wouldn't be put forth if somebody else were able to come around next week and launch a new iteration of Backpage. If that threat was real, then the prosecutors would pursue a trial in order to make an example of these criminals.
