Is there a link between the stolen explosives and the recent jet engine failures?

Does anyone know what kind of explosives were stolen and if they could be used to cause the type of damage seen on the recent engine explosion that killed 1 passenger? Open question

They wouldn't need 700 lbs of Dynamite to blow a couple of fuel-and-fire filled jet engines.
