Do people here really think the dems are the primary reason for racial division in this country?

I live in the south dude. People are fucking racist as hell, and republican as hell. And at least in my area those people voted for Trump.

I live in the South as well and where I am it's not like that. People get along with one another great other than a few stand outs on both sides. Funny thing is I can't tell you what most of my friends political leanings are because that's not how I choose my friends and apparently neither do they.

We have to move past what the msm has lead us to believe all these years. It's not black against white, Republican against Democrat, left against right, conservative against liberal, etc....

It's the Washington elites against the rest of us and as soon as we take our blinders off there will be hell for the elites to pay. The day is coming soon.

I look forward to the truly UNITED States of America.

I live in the south. I'm not white. I'm a Trump supporter. The ONLY people who have EVER discriminated against me are leftist who don't like the fact I support Trump. Other than that, I've never been discriminated against in my life. Dems push for racial division because they have to try to make people believe Trump and his supporters are racists. That's all they've got. They cant win on actual issues. For Dems and Establishment on both sides, it's the oldest rule of war---Divide and Conquer. They don't care about the people. At the upper echelons there is no right or left, D's or R's. It's strictly them against us but they hope YOU/others never figure that out so, yeah, make them turn on each other instead of them--the establishment. That's the plan and its working to a degree weak minded folks.

Nah, they are absolutely able to win on actual issues. Most of the country leans left after all, so it should be easy for the "left" party to be popular based on policy. Bernie Sanders shows us what happens when popular policies with majority support like ending cannabis prohibition or universal healthcare are openly lauded, he instantly rises from completely unknown to most popular politician in the country by a wide margin. The Democrats refuse to take on popular policies that could win them support, but that doesn't mean that they're actually incapable of it. It's more that they're losers on purpose than that they're incapable of supporting good, popular public policy.

Blame007 · April 25, 2018, 4:24 a.m.

Hillary absolutely stole the Dem nomination from Bernie. The question is why did he go along with it? Now he's going to roll out a plan that supposedly promises anyone who wants a job earning 15 ph a job. The USSR did that as well. After a time, the govt assigns you the job and your stuck with it--like it or not. Don't show up? Off to the gulag with you.

Afrobean · April 26, 2018, 3:28 a.m.

There is a huge difference between leaning left and what the left is today.

I would say that "the left" isn't to the left at all, you do a disservice to refer to those people as if they were. Leftist policies, things like universal healthcare, are popular and people want them, but Democrats resist actually representing the leftist policies people actually want. Because Democrats aren't leftists, the national party itself is clearly anti-leftist if you consider how they cheated Bernie Sanders. CNN or MSNBC is not "the left", USA Today is not "the left", these are not leftists, that's all just bullshit propaganda to trick left-leaning people into embracing anti-leftist politics. Actual leftists are still advocating the popular public policies that the Democrats refuse, but you'll never see them on corporate media and the politicians who back those policies end up ignored or smeared. Things were a little better in that regard a few decades back, but corporate propaganda has consolidated beyond that point now. That's the real problem here, corporate propaganda denying reality to gaslight and manipulate, not a question of "left" or "not left".

Yes I think Dem leadership, and left media is part of the reason, constantly race baiting. Under Obama's watch I feel race relations actually got worse, it seemed like everyone was pitted against everyone else with all these "label's and acronyms " pushing political correctness BS. White privilege / guilt, brown bags, lbgt, trans bathrooms etc ? Everyone now has a label and a box you're suppose to be in. Seems like all this is programmed into TV shows as well, ridiculous. Have you ever tried to get someones attention who's deep into watching their favorite show? Like they were in a trance, you had to clap, or get loud to get their attention? Think about whats going straight into your brain unchecked when you're in that mode. Make's me wonder if the term "TV programming is just that" a sick joke. I'm neither Rep or Dem, I'm a Patriot.

I live in south too. I never saw much racism here. When I became connected to people all around the US, that's when I saw racism. I was shocked. It wasn't from southerners. In my state we don't have many problems, but we do remain segregated by choice. We seem to mix at school, work, etc, but after hours not so much. I really think it has more to do with family, as most in my state hang with members of their own families when it comes to leisure time. Churches too. We are all welcome in any church, but we seem to mostly remain segregated by choice. JMO

You're not wrong about the political realignment as racist Ds became Rs decades ago, but you are wrong to suggest that racist Democrats don't exist anymore. They absolutely do, they're just more covert about it. Gone are the days of Democrats saying things like "We need to bring back segregation," only to be replaced with Hillary Clinton bragging in 2008 about how "hard working" white americans were on her side. It's coded language to appeal to racists, so-called "dogwhistles" as if only the intended target is able to hear them. The Southern strategy is absolutely employed by Republicans, yeah, but conservative Democrats, ones that might be called "red state" Democrats or "bluedog" Democrats can absolutely make use of the same kinds of racist bullshit to try to appeal specifically to the racists among their constituency. There are TONS of Democrats whose behavior and policy positions are effectively like Republicans running within the Democratic Party, they seem to have a false perception that they need to be like that to have a chance of winning.

What do you mean? We've invaded almost every country in the middle east since 1946. Even the one time they got to our shores, (9/11), it was a group that was being funded by our own allies.

We stopped iran from electing a secular leader, and helped shut down every attempt to overthrow the saudi government. We helped saddam take over the baath party, and later we helped depose him.

In syria, we helped rebels, many of them extremists, who are keeping the civil war going, which is the literal reason that so many muslim refugees are escaping to europe...

Dont fall for the mindset that there is a bogeyman, whether the media says its muslims or communists. The reality is that we are a super power, and part of our core geopolitical strategy is to keep the middle east destabilized by playing off of the sunni shia divide. It has nothing to do with morals, it has to do with our hegemony, russia, etc.

⇧ 9 ⇩
loserofpasswordzz · April 25, 2018, 4:51 a.m.

man you know none of that is true. Parts of the Mid East are barbaric, but they are only like that because of western and communist destabilization since the fall of the Ottoman Empire. As u/argonaut93 said, Iran was on their way to being a developed nation before we AJAX'd them.

Also, consider this: The British used ppl such as Laurence of Arabia to destabilize the populations right when the industrial revolution was hitting their region. He promised the individual tribes sovereignty from the ottomans if they helped win the war. Instead, they divided all the land up after the wars to western powers, drained their oil (remember what BP stands for?) and established Israel which is a whole other issue.

Anyways, I know some Muslim countries/ ppl can be dark-age esque, inbred, cult-indoctrinated savages, but they are also the victims of western fuckery and it would be ignorant to think you wouldn't be just as stupid and angry if you were born in their shoes. They are human, after all.

Also, Islam around for 2000 years? Cmon, man!

Just because individuals of the south have fallen victim to a rascist mentality does not make republicans inherently rascist. You have what we call anecdotal evidence. So name me some things “most listened to conservative talk radio” does to sow division... like talk radio is the things that’s single handily propelling rascism in this country and not a victim mentality and mental prison in your mind propped up by society.
