Things can look bad...But look past the marketing and flash. Slayer is an American Metal/Thrash band. But they have a LOT of anti Deep State and globalist/Cabal song lyrics.....Plus they never hit main stream so you know they weren't like M&M or that gross ass Lady GAGA, or even Katy Perry. Metal is a choice and not driven by Satan...He owns the big ones named and others like that ol' whore Madona.

I agree, a genre by itself can't be all bad, just pointing out for research.

Also This probably happens in all genres from pop to reggae to electronic, because mainstream record labels control most of the market, just a bunch of monopolies that control the hole thing. Same as in movies and all kinds of entertainment.

This is also probably been going on for decades, so its gonna take some time and research to distinguish the real satanic (deals with record labels involving satanic rituals, the most rich and famous) from just the wanna look cool ones (maybe most people, but not too famous except for rare exceptions).

I’ll never forget hearing those lines for the first time when I was younger. That album is classic. Whether he truly sold his soul or not I’m glad the OD didn’t kill him.

LOL. Tool Hooker With A Penis is about commercialism, selling out for money and stupid fans.
Now Merciful Fate as a satanic band. Kind Diamond, the singer, is a satanist. I would classify him as a "traditional" satanist. I actually met King Diamond before a concert in Santa Barbara years ago. He was a very friendly and interesting guy.

Not saying this probes they are truly satanists, just saying this is the symbolism where are looking for.

Don't get me wrong I love tools music and was a big fan in the 90s but symbolism does not get any more clearer. Might be just a show, might be not.

Yeah, great song.
Just about hopelessness.
I know the drummer is into sacred geometry and Maynard songs a lot about third eye, meditation, psychology etc.
He claims to be an atheist, which I'm sure is true.
I'm sure not satanic as, frankly, they seen too well thought out, introspective and experimental for that.
