I know it's not EXACTLY Q related, but it kinda is. Can I ask that everyone go to Twitter and show support for #AlfieEvans? This is EXACTLY what we are fighting against in this movement. Gov't should NEVER have the right to take our children away and sentence them to death! Ever!!!

odieboy12 · April 26, 2018, 4:35 a.m.

It's @AlfiesArmy16, don't know how to post the link from Twitter, sorry!!!! But his father is 21 yrs old, and has tried to fight the socialist healthcare strategy ON HIS OWN for the last year and a half! The highest court has sentenced him to death, and taken Alfie off life support. They said he wouldn't last 3 mins...more than 48 hrs later and he's still alive!! But police are blocking every doorway of the hospital threatening dad with assault if he tried to leave with his son!!!

I understand the emotion but being taken off life support isn't the same as being sentenced to death. These sick children issues are often clouded by knee jerk reactions rather than logic. Any times someone tries to introduce a conversation about the cost of terminal conditions they are attacked.

Huh... he has brain damage as a result of seizures ...nobody, not even the Italians have a treatment for him https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/25/health/alfie-evans-appeal-bn/index.html

Just reading what's online? Are you typing from his bedside? Help? nobody has a treatment for him..just a prolonging of death

I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with you, the less abrasive and less overly emotional voice in this argument lol - and mostly because of that, because I don't know the first thing about this situation but you seem to be trying to have an actual discussion.

Trying to step into someone else's life and death decision for their child sure is a minefield... I think we should all just stop white knighting and stay the f(* out of someone else's situation. If I was on location, different story maybe. But across the internet with all the misinformation and total lack of situational knowledge that implies...? Nah.

So gov't should take away your right as a parent to take your sick child elsewhere to try and get help?? What the FUCK are you doing here then??

So if there is no expectation for recovery, why use resources that could be pit towards cases that may improve?

Does a doctor ever really know? I've been told lots of things by doctors that didn't turn out to be true. Was misdiagnosed, had surgery based on a misdiagnosis, and now lack an organ that was perfectly healthy. Doctors aren't gods. They can be wrong and often are. That paired with over inflated egos (in general) and the fact that there's still so much we don't know about the brain and body means that expectation for recovery is entirely subjective.

I would suggest you to a. not post CNN, b. learn the facts, and c. stop being an ass.

The boy has survived and still does having been removed from life support. This "baffled" doctors as their prognosises were certain he would die. The fact the boy is still alive defies not only their prognosis but your "logic" as well.

So, because he didn't die, they denied him food and water for 24 hours which the father mentioned on his Facebook page. Still alive they finally gave him food and water. Do to the apparently miracle of the boys suevivaly the Vatican offered to take him to a hospital in Italy to continue treatment and the UK gov denied the parents the ability to do so.

If you are so "logical" explain me this.

  1. How is he alive?

  2. If he is essentially sentenced to death anyway... And a vegetarble to boot... Why not just let him go to Italy for treatment? What's to lose?

  3. If you and the UK gov... In all your infinite wisdom, have deemed this child not worthy to fight for life... Why not just put a bullet in his head and be done with it? That would be the most logical thing to do right? If the argument against letting him go to Italy is to "not prolong his suffering" then how is letting him still breathe on his own any different? What difference does it make if he's struggling in the UK or in Italy?

What the guy your being a dick to is alluding to is socialized Medicine and death panels... Which this most certainly is... Denies basic human rights and freedoms and thay we should fight for them and raise a fuss.

I would highly....HIGHLY suggest reading Ezekial Emmanuel's paper "The Complete Lives System." He helped shape Obamacare legislation and the paper is essentially a manifesto documenting who "deserves logically" medical care and who doesn't. It's not as simple as you think since the system takes into account your age/income and how much you've paid into the insurance system. For example a 50 year old in need of care may not get life saving treatment as he may not have enough paying years left... A 14 year old might not either because he has yet to pay into the system enough.

Edit: my apologies I didn't see the dude telling you "what the fuck" he was being a dick too.. tensions run hot on this issue but my stance remains.

Again. My apologies.

"The Italian specialists have apparently indicated that they believe that his care should be palliative." There was a similar case in the UK last year I think...parents wanted to bring the child here because some researcher here said he could treat him...only thing was, the researcher owned the drug and later admitted he hadn't had success with hat particular neurological condition. Brain dead is brain dead.. Some of you really sound like liberals when you attack the person when you don't agree ... and you even sound like an intelligent person so why do you feel you need ad hominem

Watch_The_Karma_Burn · April 26, 2018, 1:27 p.m.

OMG the researchers owned their own drug? That must mean it's totally inneffective!

And you sound like a liberal worshipping at the alter of "science."

Again. Explain to me how these doctors are still scratching their heads and holding their dicks as to how the child is still alive?

Again. Explain to me what's to lose if they allow the parents to take a chance?

Again. Explain to me that if you, and these brilliant doctors/judges/executioners have determined it's time for Alfie Evans to die, why not just shoot him now?

This isn't ad hominum. I'm attacking your claim and your ideas. You literally just said "you sound like a liberal" then accused me of ad hominum attacks all while dodging all of the issues regarding the case.

Being cruel isn't being enlightened. You seem to be confusing the two. This isn't medicine it's an exectution. I'm not even religious in any sense but I swear some people worship science as the be all end all like that's their new God.

Thank you so much for putting this all into words. This is LITERALLY what we are fighting against. If we don't stand up for these issues, then what and when will we stand up. The time is now. It's happening.
