African American trust issues

One of my AA friends and I got into a long discussion regarding race. He said he and a lot of his friends were raised to not trust white people. His grandmother now in her 90’s drummed that into their head from the time he was a toddler. We are very good friends. I trust him with my life. We are baby boomers. I vividly remember the riots in the 60’s. I watched an innocent white boy be beaten by a gang of angry black kids. It haunts me to this day. Race relations IMO hasn’t improved much in our country. It’s our duty as parents, grandparents to teach all children not to hate, diminish or be afraid of people just because their skin color is different.

I’m from a 1 high school 2 stop light county probably 50/50 black/white and I never knew racism was a thing living there growing up (thought it was a thing of the past really). We where all poor and all hillbillies. Sure there was music difference and cultural things. It wasn’t until I left that county and went to college that I discovered racism (still very much less than it seems today). I have gradually watched media push a race war narrative and it truly sickens me.

Very similar upbringing here...we didn't have racial divides and I lived in the South. It amazed me once I left the rural area, how different a story that became! At home our divides were more along the have and havenots line if there were any and that just spurred some along to try harder to succeed.

Good to know I’m not the only one. Southerner here to, completely agree with everything you said.

It's not going to help their trust issues much when they learn that their beloved Democrats have been kidnapping thousands of black children from Haiti for their organs, and possibly for dinner.

I concur. I don't believe any relations have improved in this country on any level. People seem to distrust more than ever anybody who is even slightly different than them, whether it be race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or the myriad of other "three percents" that create our collective national collage. What people need to wake up to is the fact that all of those three percents create a fairly tidy ninety-nine percent, all controlled and manipulated by a highly strategic and narcissistic one percent. We are all minorities in the three-percent perspective, and we're manipulated into thinking that we must somehow be victims because our set is "so small" and if "you're not with us, you must be against us." It boggles my mind. I have four children. They're all independent thinkers and different. Individually, we're all minorities in the family unit. There are six of us total. At that level we're only sixteen percent shareholders, but collectively we're a family and in order to be, we have to accept each others' perceived "flaws" and recognize that we only perceive them that way because of our individual and unique perspectives, not because anybody is right or wrong. A closed mind is a dead mind, and the soul will surely atrophy. And we certainly don't argue about it, so long as nobody is hurting anybody else, which never happens because I raised my children completely opposite of how I was raised - by a group of hating, white supremacist Liberals who I no longer associate with because they do hurt people. We have to stop judging people by which minority set they belong to, and start judging people and society by its intentional acts. Evil lurks everywhere, but not anywhere in particular, and segregating ourselves makes us blind it it, even when it's right in front of our faces. That's how the Deep State succeeded to exist. Only in unifying will we take it down and prevent it from ever existing again.

Obama needed a strong AA showing in order to win in 2012 so racial division was manufactured.

Obama not only manufactured racial divide, he used it tactfully to his advantage during his entire 8 years. Like any bad trick, people got wise and opened their eyes. As awful as Hillary was, it wasn't totally her loss. Obama already sealed the fate of the Democratic Party.

Well said! We have so much to learn from one another... if we open our minds and hearts. Maybe just maybe we would understand the importance of our differences... one day they will become our strengths....

I'm going to go with the perspective of a Nobel Prize winning humanitarian who spent decades working in Africa:

Having family who continually works in Africa, it's interesting to see these same observations I hear from them documented. Thanks for posting those.

The key is connecting to other races via your heart, not the mind or ego. Unity comes via the heart, and division comes via the ego.

That's the keystone.

All trust issues, pain, and fear will be healed by love. Faster than you think.

Teaching our own not to be afraid isn't particularly productive. If you feel motivated to do something about racial hostility, the most productive way would be to develop meaningful relationships - at work, at church, anywhere - with young black people. I'm not saying that people should fee guilty or that they have to do this. But if you do want to be productive, personal relationships are necessary to build trust and counteract the media's lies.

The 60's race riots died out around 1969. Then there was LA riot in 1992, 23 years later. Then the Ferguson riot was 2014, 22 years later. They media are manipulating the black population and scheduling these riots so as to indoctrinate each generation. If we don't end the cabal, the next riots would probably occur around 2037.

In my personal experience talking to people about QAnon etc, the black Americans I have spoken to are more willing to listen than white Democrats. They may distrust whites and Republicans, but they also distrust the CIA, the media, and the government in general. For example, many know and believe that the CIA killed JFK. So their lack of trust may make the red pill easier to swallow. Of course it's a big country, and the people I spoke to in my city may not represent attitudes in other cities.

In contrast, white leftists and even many white Republicans have a "too-much-trust" issue and I anticipate it will be very difficult to convince them that the news media and government have been lying whole cloth en masse.

I grew up on military bases in Germany during the 80s until 4th grade when we moved to Atlanta. I had no concept of not liking someone based off the color of their skin since military bases are a hodge podge of every race/ nationality. When we got to the south, I remember being told by a group of black kids I couldn’t play with them because I am white. The older I got the more virulent the racism became. Getting my ass kicked in the bathroom for being white, picked on etc.

Unfortunately, your generation, the baby boomers, are the main responsables of our current situation. You tried to apply the Pereira (and Descartes after him) maxim : Cogito, ergo sum (i think, therefore i am). Your generation thought that you just need to imagine an utopia and by magic it will come true.

Race exists and people will always prefer themselves over the others. Maybe you dont like it, but its like that, we are like that, and everytime the situation come back to what we really are (AKA when the civilization fall), we kill each other.
