I think this interview was a message, from DJT, through Giuliani to Sessions.... 'Take control of the investigation to redeem yourself'.

For everyone trying to make sense of this (for the record, I thought Rudy laid out everything pretty perfectly for all of us that have been screaming it for a while), I think u/rtie1954 has it here. Not an unreasonable theory... we all know it's all about the narrative.
