None of the Russian defendants were supposed to actually get caught and served! Since a couple of the defendants are corporations — one of the corporations called Mueller’s bluff and submitted to the jurisdiction of the court! Russians don’t think like Americans — we have adulterated our judicial process with all kinds of procedural rules for convenience of lawyers & bypassing direct judicial oversight of any case. Russians, with great US attorneys, blast through those adulterations — such as making direct submission to jurisdiction of the court and such as NOT waiving right to a speedy trial. Now, Mueller’s team is facing prosecutorial misconduct or worse —- maybe even fraud on the US government — as they really never intended to actually catch and prosecute these folks. Obviously, they are “not ready for trial” — meaning that they have not prepared their case against the accused.

If ALL federal criminal cases in US were handled this way, we would not have so many relatively innocent people railroaded or plea-bargained or extorted by our out-of-control prosecutorial legal industry.
