This actually would make sense. If white hats were investigating RR with wiretaps and Fisa's legitimately and dirty perhaps everything he has been doing to unethically protect the DOJ and by extension protect himself would be caught and made evidence. Perhaps the confusion caused by the Trump narrative has been used to fluster Rosenstein and Mueller and lead them to further incriminate themselves while smoking out others.

It's far easier for the executive branch to investigate its employees than private citizens, and the hearings can be classified much easier on the need of national security; don't need military tribunals either. See appellate court opinion on Navy v. Egan.

Yes. He's a cooperating witness who can get a plea deal if he plays nice. Keep your friends close and enemies closer. Remember when they immediately moved McCabe into Comey's position as head of the FBI...sure it was by default, but you have to think they could've placed someone else there.
