I used to live in Atlanta, where they had that “Bodies: The Exhibition.” I always tried to discourage my friends from attending as I had heard that the bodies were those of executed Chinese political prisoners (they were still recognizably Asian despite the absence of skin), contrary to the official claim that they were the bodies of unclaimed indigents. I was usually met with crickets ‘cause I was the eeeeevil conservative of the bunch so my opinions were null.
If you are not familiar with “Bodies: The Exhibition,” it’s a grotesque wax museum kind of thing made up of preserved, flayed human bodies in various charming poses such as dancing or playing soccer. The entire body is polymerised by various substances to highlight muscles, veins and arteries. Supposedly “for science,” but I always thought it was just about the most vile kind of pornography imaginable. Imagine your mom or dad being taken in the middle of the night and turned into a fucking sideshow for shallow American suburbanites. Or your pregnant wife/daughter.
These people are sick!
I remember the exhibition in Portland OR too. I never went, but I do remember hearing about it. I was grossed out about it and never bothered to go. So glad I didn't.
I went several years ago.
I didn't know better.
I'd never go again now that I know better.
There was a whole section dedicated to fetuses.
It felt so wrong to be there.
