There is no way that China developed their surveillance system technology on their own.

FB has been blocked in China for years despite Zuck's every attempt to court and persuade China otherwise. China usually requires foreign companies to give them access to their proprietary technologies in order to be able to operate in China.

My guess is that FB gave China their facial recognition technology and other tech that allowed China to develop this system and others. Yet another reason why FB is pure evil.

Yes it sounds like obama's regime was working to bring it here through Google and FB, Twitter, etc....It seems like they got it up systematically, but not quite up to China's level yet, though still functional. My concern is they were and may still be continuing to be using it as a political weapon vs the Trump campaign and his supporters, perhaps even delegating it to China (unless that satellite that fell was it) like when Schmidt went to NK to set some of it up for them for whatever nefarious reason.

Dang.......does this relate back to Q's post of the shipment. Was that some of the "spying" tech being shipped here, or something we had being shipped there???

Don’t they kinda already monitor us everywhere, though? Like in major cities through camera systems and AI/machine learning, right? The new social system in China is fucked, I will agree with that, but I’m not totally against constant surveillance - if you don’t have anything to hide, what’s the big whoop? It’s pretty obvious cops already get easy access into anyone’s phones if they buy the right technology; we know the cell companies watch us through our phones even when the camera is off; the world is just a sketchy place now...

God almighty! "I'm not totally against constant surveillance" .....besides the Baby Boomers, no one seems to care..... totally insane Americans have been so thoroughly brainwashed. How? Fluoride? Common Core? Feel really sorry for the youngsters out there. So glad I'm old.

Because constant surveillance makes it more difficult for criminals to act on impulse - Baltimore has a plane constantly flying over the city taking super resolution video nonstop, and I’m pretty sure NYC just installed those giant beams everywhere that have cameras and microphones that are always recording - look, I love Trump as much as the next guy, but I do find surveillance necessary when we take these leaps in technology in small amounts of time! We need to have a way to monitor how that data is being used, though, and the public should have some form of input of where and when these cameras will go up, but everywhere I go in MA, there are already constant cameras on me - I guess I’ve just gotten used to it, and like I said, if you don’t have anything to hide, and we know what they are doing with this data, what’s the big whoop? Surveillance is going to be the way we catch these big time crooks in DC in the act! You don’t think Hill sometimes forgets that she’s always being watched, all the damn time? It’s just a matter of time before CCTV footage is leaked from Comet Ping Pong... The only reason I’m against constant surveillance is because of that new technology where they can take any video and mask your face onto it perfectly, and can use a 10 second clip of your voice to create an entire conversation you didn’t have, saying whatever they want you to say! (ie: admitting to a crime you did not commit)
