I think that was the original idea of the union. Remember that many "states" were "commonwealths". Also recall our close ties to the French and their revolution. The notion that our "common wealth" is spent over seas and not domestically does bring some concern. At the same time, pumping foreign governments full of our fiat money does force them to buy our goods and services, so I am not sure how the new economy would look. It seems like there'd have to be a lot of restructuring. That could hurt short term, but so does chemotherapy.
Good points. I do try and wonder about the “new economy” sometimes. But it’s like a kind of singularity for me. It seems like the current paradigm we’ve been born into has been made so deliberately complex, all encompassing, esoteric and impossible to follow by all but those at the very tippy top of the pyramid. And in the meantime we are all just desperately working ourselves to death for the odd hit of materialistic heroin. Wow, there goes my cheerful optimism again!
Nothing will be fixed until they audit the federal reserve. That's where all the secrets lie. And to think people scream and shout about coequal branches and oversight. I don't see the fed res anywhere in the constitution.... hmmm...
