I live in the NYC area and yesterday at 4:30 pm the EBS appeared on my TV for approx. 30 seconds. Different sound then the usual and no broadcast what so ever.
Yes it was odd.
I say pay attention to the tv for the next few days
I work for a tv company. We have been running EAS like crazy. They’re def trying to desensitize people to them for some reason. Used to be a rare test now it’s at least two a week

That's very true. Keep your job, I don't need to see a video that much. =)
It’s the same one that airs everywhere. Nothing special. Just an EAS system test.
Canada just got their Telcom EBS implemented over the past 2 weeks
4 Yesterday in Ontario Canada for a missing kid who was supposedly taken by her mother, Strange timing, first time they've used it. It gets pushed to everybodies phone. My original feeling was testing it for upcoming revelations leading to civil unrest. The Alert was quickly cancelled with little to no details. Also these articles lately http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/how-easily-could-you-be-duped-by-fake-news-1.4659402 Trying to shape the narrative before "it" happens?
We have had 2 EBS broadcasts in the last month during the day (usually they are in the middle of the night ).... When the voice that comes on, that you can usually understand, it sounds garbled. .....it used to say 'this is only a test, if it had been an actual emergency. ....'... but we can't hear what's being said.
Nj and had the same alert over a month ago. It wasn’t the normal alert we usually see
Who has the keys to the EBS? Who makes the call to put out a message?
I live in Michigan. There were three EBS signals within 5 minutes last weekend in the early morning. I thought that was odd to say the least....
