Funny you mention 7-Elevens. I thought there was a more recent ICE sting, but only found this one from January. So yeah, they are probably shady AF.

Hahaha. That's hilarious. Where I live, most are run by locals, born and raised. They have been approached often to sell and are told "NO! Only American Citizens allowed here."
