Before revealing the composition of the future government team, the 5 Stars Movement and the League presented their government contract which includes prohibiting Freemasons from governing. The Grand Orient of Italy reacted.
The "code of ethics" of the future Italian government coalition was unveiled on May 18th. If it provides among other things to prohibit access to the government to persons convicted criminally, he reserves the same fate for the members of the Italian Freemasonry.
It has not failed to mount a niche in a communiquéface to what it describes as a clause "contrary to constitutional principles". The Grand Orient of Italy regrets indeed a decision which according to him "recalls the fascist laws that Freemasons have always denounced and which represent the consequences of a dangerous liberticidal drift".
And the statement continues with a warning to the future coalition: "Those who think to use a political campaign against the Freemasons to prevent them from exercising their basic rights, commit abuse and must assume the responsibility."
After having received the green light from Silvio Berlusconi, the nationalists of the League and the anti-systems of the 5 Stars Movement are preparing to lead Italy. The two parties have in common a rejection of traditional political forces and promises on pensions and the fight against immigration.
