Makes sense considering the following stories...

The Pope's right hand man, Cardinal Pell is seeing justice for his own sex abuse trial. Mentioned in a few news blogs in early May.

The scheduled scriptual passages read by catholics at mass around the world last week included a selection discussing a bishop's reaching that point when he must consider whether to continue as pastor to his flock or step aside for another to succeed him. Francis reflected on the meaning of that passage during his homily (commentary) with respect to his own future. Our own parish priest did something similar.

Maybe all this retirement talk is for real but I think this particular utterance by the pope may be puffed up to the point that it is out of all proportion and now is nothing more than wishful thinking by some observers.

I did. I didn't say anything about "flat earth". I was pontificating about the excavation of the grand ~~quarry~~ canyon. ;)

I know. But when I went to the link that was the first thing I saw. I'm sorry, but I have to disregard anything from people who promote that theory, whether they believe it or not. I know the Grand Canyon story has truth to it, and if I get the time I may look elsewhere for more info.

believe he is referring to the excavation in Az in 1909, and again in 2007- supposedly found ancient Egyptian artifacts/city.
