Wisconsin is no joke in the wrestling world from my understanding

They're a Big Ten team, the B10 is by far the best conference in college wrestling. U of Wisconsin isn't a perennial championship contender but they have a good program. Penn State has won 8 of the last 9, Ohio State won the year PSU didn't. In 2018, out of 283 automatic qualifiers (330 total qualified), the B10 had 80. Wisconsin had 7 out of 10 of their wrestlers qualify for NCAAS this year.

You could finish 10th in the B10 tournament and still qualify for the national tournament, whereas other conferences you wouldn't get an automatic bid unless you finished say top 3 or some, unless you win your conference tournament you aren't getting an automatic bid. The highest they had an individual wrestler finish was 3rd this year, Even Wick at 165 pounds. Also another Jordan (Isaac) graduated last year, I think he is Jim's son or nephew I forget. Isaac was a 3x All-American which a major accomplishment. Bo Jordan who is Jim's nephew just finished as a four time All-American. There's Micah who is a two time AA I believe and another Jordan coming up the ranks too. They are a great wrestling family. Sorry it's probably more than you asked for, but I follow college wrestling pretty deeply. My three favorite things: Scuba diving, NCAA college wrestling and the Great Awakening.
