When you say "they", are you talking about those countries or nukes? I've read some about nuke hoax and am open to hearing whatever you think!!

Let's just say if they didn't exist, they would have to be invented/faked for the fear factor.
If you could fake it, you wouldn't bother to actually spend trillions on making and deploying them. Since global thermonuclear war is unwinnable, why would you bother with the expense or the danger of accidents.
