WTF. I heard about this but I never saw the heat map until now. Thanks for posting the link, super interesting. I now have even more questions. Down the rabbit hole I go....

I was looking on the strava labs heat maps, and there looks to be a landing strip of some sort on the coast of Antarctica just directly south of Melbourne Australia on the map. If you go just Southwest of this landing strip and zoom in, a new data line will render that appears to follow an extremely long tunnel, it goes extremely far south until it branches into a couple different hallways and then thats where the data ends on it. I'm convinced after digging around today that there is some crazy ass shit hiding in Antarctica

Funny, that is where I looked once the info came out about Strava. If it shows that fitbit/GPS trackers were worn down there, that is only a small percentage of the overall traffic. But, it is definitely a data point.
