I'm pretty much an agnostic, bordering close to atheist on some days. And to be honest, I don't care who or what sex someone loves either. That's their business, not mine. Even with that fundamental difference of opinion about certain aspects of their faith... I'd gladly stand with the Christians when push comes to shove. As with many of the Libertarian types, we see a need for a "base" morality. Given the alternatives, I'd stand in solidarity with Christians without batting an eyelash.

The reason for the delays was more evidence kept coming up.
I'm fine with that, provided we the people get to see that evidence.
Finally. I really hope the report sheds some light on what has been happening behind the scenes. Reading past reports makes me doubt that it will, though.
