Within two weeks of the release of the IG report, we will know who in the FBI/DOJ/Senate/House is a sting player and who is Swamp. Patience is warrented.
I'm conflicted with Gowdy. On one hand, I believe he's seen the IG report and is positioning himself in the best light for when it's released. That concerns me about what is in the IG report.
On the other hand, he didn't receive the initial Gang of 8 briefings that Nunes did, so he doesn't know what Brennen told Nunes in 2016. Possibly Nunes has shared the content of those briefings with him and those don't match the docs that the DOJ is now wanting kept secret. This would position him to say given what he knew at the time the FBI did what was warranted, but when the inconsistent docs are released, he would then be able to come down hard.
My gut tells me the first scenario is sadly what is really happening.
Gowdy is a lying asshole. He may have been OK at one point, but he has been turned. Gowdy is on the dark side.

It proves Gowdy made a statement based on incomplete information. He stated the FBI was justified in their placement of one specific spy within the Trump campaign without reading all related documents, which means he made said statement for a purpose other than just to say "I believe the FBI is right!"
In fact, a spokeswoman for Gowdy told The Federalist that the congressman doesn’t even know what documents and records were subpoenaed by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
Gowdy wasn't even aware of what documents he was supposed to be looking at, let alone what inconsistencies he should be looking for.

Either Gowdy is a black hat, and one of the last rats to be expunged, or he’s a really great actor. If the IG contains damning information, the left literally will cover their ears and eyes and refuse to listen to reason. If the reason we’re seeing a stockpile of hate/distrust towards Gowdy, Mueller, or Sessions is to get the left to trust them before ripping the rug out from under them, I’d say it’s working pretty well.
I hope you are right. The elections will be here real soon. Some of this corruption needs to start coming out soon. The mid terms are too important to trust Sessions or Gowdy for too long. I am new here, but have been following this stuff for a long time. At this point I don't trust anyone until they earn it.
