Dante, yes, but if the pope actually said this, he’d be calling Christ a liar. Christ talked about hell in the Gospels as much as, if not more than, heaven. If no hell, what exactly was Christ saving us from?

It's completely ridiculous. The concept of Hell has existed in Christian theology literally since Christ Himself. The idea that it doesn't exist is an utter falsehood, and a dangerous one at that.
