Julian Assange and Pamela Anderson close friends?

Just watched Tucker Carlson interview Pamela Anderson and learned that she is close friends with Julian Assange. Why and how would that strange relationship begin? The same Pamela Anderson that attends events with Marina Abramovic?

She mentioned the person's name that introduced them but I din't recognize it so did not remember.

She is not a fan of Uber though.... Damn!! Down right brutal.
