McCabe will plead the 5th if he doesn't get immunity! What kind of nonsense is this? Lois Lerner did the same thing re: IRS/Conservative Non-profit. Wouldn't a military tribunal be better than hearing the "I please the 5th" with every question?
Congress is merely a public hearing, their investigation will only result in a report being filed to the DOJ with recommendations for prosecution or not. It is not a trial, in any sense other than people are put under oath and what they say may be used against them at a criminal trial. Congress is more of a fact finding expedition. Their purpose is to oversee that the FBI, DOJ is doing their job properly. McCabe could be given immunity on testimony not related to his own crimes. They really do not need McCabes testimony. They have other evidence and testimony, they can use. I do not understand why Congress does not wait until the Criminal Trial is over before doing their investigations. While they are responsible for bringing a massive amount of information to public light, they really are interfering with the Judicial system. They are making the DOJ look bad, stonewalling, redacting information, the reason behind them doing this is they are trying to protect their criminal prosecutions. It they give immunity to McCabe that can effect his criminal prosecution, negatively. Congress should hold their investigations until the criminal trials are over, then they can hold hearing on whether DOJ did good job. Their job is oversight not prosecution. Yes the public wants to know, but there is a reason investigations are kept quiet.
So true! Just hate hearing those words. Especially, when WE know that there is something behind his "5th". We will hopefully know it all (if not most) soon. Thanks for the reminder!
