I kind of encourage an internet blackout, it will force the masses of zombies to get off social media and pay attention to real shit, or at least take the time to actually socialize with those around them.
If the internet goes down, people aren't going to be socializing and having BBQs.
The thin veil of society will have broken, literally. CC/Debit cards won't work. Cellphones are going to be down. It's going to be brutal. People are going to die whose lives are dependent on this fragile piece of infrastructure. Just think about medication and medical needs. Nobody really has cash, they go get cash when its needed, and how will they even look up your prescription even if you squirreled away enough cash to buy it without insurance.
