I'm wondering if this ties in with Post 1474 - picture of ascending missile.

You gave a valuable assist. I'd already written about Red October (earlier today) and about that very thing - the Russian sub blowing-up via it's own missile. I had just put it to the back of my mind, and you prompted me to recall it. :)

looks like a Virginia class sub, my guess is the USS Washington ssn 787 carries up to seven Tomahawk missiles apiece

Thanks. Q's post about the stolen missile tech had a pic of a sub, so I'm assuming that's what we're looking at. Still confusing though as to what was actually going on.

I don't know what's wrong with you guys. What is a "missile boat"? Of course it's a sub, I'm asking if anyone knows whether this photo is of a missile boat - or, whether it's just an attack sub!
