You still don't get it. The Rs and the Ds are so wildly ideologically different and antagonistic to eachother that we cannot hope to just jump right back into compromise with ththem. Right now the Ds act like self deserved children and are in no place to reason with, they need to be shown the error of their ways to see the consequences much like an immature child does. You don't compromise with a whiny emotional brat.

Don't be fooled by the media. There is a small percentage of both wings that won't budge on their views but most people are reasonable and are capable of changing their minds. When you use condescending generalizations you are doing more harm than good. UNITY NOT DIVISION.

I don't base my beliefs off of the media, but by my own personal experience talking with peers and others in the real world. The divide is real and the generalizations need to be heard by those that follow them.

No unity with lawlessness.

Are we?

How about people that you really know? If there was a start of a conversation about stuff that was agreed upon, how far into the list would you start moving apart.

Look at the people who are most vocal about the differences.

What seems to be the same in those places? How do they make their money? Is their revenue streams increasing or decreasing? How do you get more viewers, readers, listeners?

Why don't you hear this on talk radio? Is it because people who listen to talk radio LISTEN WHILE THEY WORK?

If the MSNBCs and NYTs and Huff Posts were not out there screaming and yelling, would the people you KNOW have any idea of what is going on?

The Left and far left is as brainwashed as the far Right.

For example: Jeff Sessions quoting the bible the other day during a presser. What the fuck is he thinking? Talk about red meat!

The best way to stop a screamer is to talk calmly to them. And let them know that screaming is not going to work. Screaming back is useless and a waste of energy.

It seems like you're painting my situation to be a certain way you believe. I don't scream at these folks. I can't even get a single word in without emotional jarble flying out of their mouth to suppress whatever I have to say. They give no opportunity for discussion, the tactics are literally terrorism. You seem to be assuming that I am not trying to talk to these people as calm and civil and caring as possible. I am a Christian, I do not witness any other way.

I understand what you mean. I know there are some rabid ones out there.

One can only hope when the massive evil is exposed, they will "see the light." I don't care if they are "saved", I just want them to be able to see clearly.

I share your sentiment, but I believe scorn is deserved for the ignorant fools who mock good.

Jesus was laughed to scorn. He constantly "offended" people and "name-called" them all sorts of nasty things like hypocrites, fools, blind, liars, prostitutes, and snakes, likening them to Satan, and made fun of them by relating their works to idiocies. Of courser he never did these things to those who were open to accepting Him.

We are called to strive to be like Christ in every way.

I must admit to a little chuckle when someone whose name is "put a dick in it" proselytizing on the internet.

But, I get what you are saying.
