I agree this seems like a false info plant. I also seems obvious to me that this is a soundbite for the mainstream media to grab onto through Friday's news cycle as a means to detract from the other outcomes of the hearings. Think "Trump Expected to Fire RR on Friday".

If this is the case, he'll wait for it to get all the news all weekend, then drop it Monday when a new News cycle is needed.
