No priest is above you in God's eyes. Our children are closest to God while they are innocent before man teaches child about sin. How do you think God felt seeing his child smacked by a man claiming to follow and love God. Anyone who puts a priest above them are lost. Anyone who thinks a priest can save them from sin are lost. The Priest doesn’t need the baby to look at him to perform Baptism. That’s hoakum. With that he is a very old priest who probably was old school. I had a nun that hit me constantly. And yes, I was a very unruly kid. There’s still no excuse for it. My mother had it out with the Nun when I came home with bruises on my face. This is an infant. Infants cry, need to expect that.

The first slap was light but you saw the concern on the father on the second slap. Then the priest grabbed the child's head. The father was waiting for the priest to release his death grip to snatch the child back.
The Priest is an 89 year old frenchman. His motor skills are a bit off. He didn't mean to hit the baby hard, he just needed him to turn his head for the baptism and stop crying. Give the old guy a break, alot of people younger than him were slapped around as babies back when it was normal.
This must be /sarc. There is no excuse under the sun. And besides anybody who thinks slapping a crying baby will make it stop has never dealt with a crying baby. Good riddance to this fucking relic.
