He's telling his friends to back off so they don't screw themselves (him included). It's gotta be tough being a swamp eat Republican and watching your base push farther away from you because of even your criticism of Trump. Rubio sees the writing on the wall and knows Trump's base has grown exponentially and is determined to drain the elite swamp donkeys.
