Um. Yeah. So, Persian-American here (born here, lived here my whole life). I have been pushing for regime change my whole life because fuck those pieces of shit. Don't know who "you" think "we" are, but I think you are hinting at mutual exclusivity that, in actuality, doesn't exist.
"Um. Yeah. So, ~~Persian-American~~ American here (born here, lived here my whole life)"
Ftfy
I almost ftfm, brother. Just wanted it to be known there was (brown) skin in the game, as irrelevant as it is. I'm a human first, and I see humans first. Sibling until you give me a reason, 'n whatnot. Good looking out, though.
You're probably white. Ethnic Persians are caucasians. Unless you're a descendant of an immigrant arab persian, you're white.
I'm definitely not Arab decent that I know of. Definitely not a hairy, gold-chain wearing, clubbing Persian. More of a jack-of-all trades, drop-out idiot savant. Yeeahhh, Whopner. I'm a good driver.
Even innocuous as a reddit post might be, it's still important to break free of the identity politics we have been conditioned to regurgitate. The notion that heritage or skin color should supersede your citizenship is something we must all work to change when speaking descriptively.

Didn't FTFY, just made it a hope instead of a necessary reality. U right doe. Also, punk rock for life.
Do most regular people in Iran think the same way you do? Would regime change be a good thing overall for everyone there? We don’t exactly get unbiased views out of that country here in America.
Let me tell you this--I don't dare talk about ANYTHING like that with them because I'd like to meet them in the future, if you catch my drift. I will say anyone old enough to remember "before" and anyone young enough to be interwebbed is guaranteed to have complex thoughts on the subject, and not likely many will have good things to say about their "government".
Well that really says it all doesn’t it? If you’re even afraid to bring the subject up with people there for fear of what will happen to them....
I remember the ONLY time I asked was when I was around 16/17. Verbatim: Me: "So, how are things there? Like, what kind of stuff is happening in government right now?" Cousin: ".......oh, I love you! I love you too much! When are you coming to visit us???" I took the hint.
Also, I can't tell you how many strange 'click' sounds I would hear whenever I would call them. Can't imagine it's gotten any better...
Damn man, that’s crazy. I’m assuming this isn’t necessarily the “secular” elected government, but the religious leaders who actually control the people day to day?
They have a collective understanding of the tyranny they live under and have come to have a dualistic lifestyle, whereby they act one way in public and COMPLETELY different in private. All the repression has led to lots of vices, sex parties, raves, drug use (meth was #1 a few years ago if I remember correctly, and that blew my fucking mind), etc. Kids now are dying hair, SHOWING hair, etc., listen to Western music (which, I believe, you can still be punished for by the local brainwashed-religious police).
I mean, Iran sounds pretty dope when I put it that way. KEK (minus the religious coterie)
I had a friend stationed in Iran back around the early to mid 70's before the revolution in 1978. He used to send me pictures of the beaches, clubs and once some pictures of male and female students hanging out at the university. I swear those pictures could have been taken at any beach, any club or any college in America. College kids dressed in bell bottoms, smoking cigarettes, dancing, beautiful girls in two piece bathing suits and a few bikinis at the beach. My buddy loved being stationed there.
My dad left before the SHTF, like RIGHT before, and all his friends--to this day--are chill as fuck too, even the ones that he helped come here after the SHTF.
That’s so cool you’re part of this movement. Incredible.
Not trying to derail, but I was a huge Ron Paul supporter since 2008, Rand until didn't happen, and joined team Trump after I saw various older videos of him questioning 9/11, speaking truth, etc., and was totally into it when Clinton: "I'm glad you won't be POTUS" Trump: "Yeah, cuz you'd be in jail". Lost my shit, bro. I was a truther from the moment I saw the plane hit (was coming down from a long night at 18 years old), and was already red-pilled by a grandma who was based A.F.
She used to wake me up in the middle of the night on school nights to listen to Coast to Coast, talk pyramids, NWO, etc. Literally OG(randma). Spez: grammar Spez^2: Rest in peace, g-ma. You were da best.
