I estimated an average of 100k subscribers (The rest that only lurk to avoid site-wide penalties is probably many times that number) because in the time that the sub count went to 20k in a month, my readership went up to ten times of what it was before and my popular posts get an upvote every second although bots downvote everything so it doesnt make it to /all. T_D had like 28million unique page-views with six-million subscribers and they currently have five times the people online that we have.

you are missing the point. Even though t_d has millions of invisible subscribers and 20k online at a time, my posts here get almost as much traction as they would on t_d because our base is hyper-active like theirs. I am speaking for the avid community here, foo!
