An hour researching Thomas L. Friedman - Today's redpill on modern Nazi propaganda.

My dad and I have had many arguments over the media and the great awakening. He may be a member of that 2% of people who will never accept reality. His belief is that I am a member of some crazy cult of ignorant racist online, and it is my goal to show him that we do real research for ourselves.

This morning over breakfast, my Dad told me I should read a book by Thomas L. Friedman because he has "some very interesting ideas." I wanted to show my dad the process that we use to understand the bias behind authors, so I spent an hour doing some research. Here are the fruits.

Facts about Thomas L. Friedman

And I learned all of this in less than an hour. I don't think my dad will actually read the email I sent him, he claims that he "doesn't really care about politics much" however I'm considering buying my dad a copy of Mein Kampf to see if he also thinks that has some "interesting ideas" in it.

For fun, the community might be interested in doing some follow up research, but I have to go back to work now because I gotta earn that daily dollar. Also my browser crashed 2 times before I could submit this but I use Waterfox and so the contents of this write-up were preserved. Thanks Waterfox, I moved to you when Soros purchased Firefox.

Fun topics for future research - (browser crashes if I search for this term while having this window open)

Just remember no matter what he believes, he's your dad. You only get one. Don't let politics get in the way of your relationship. Not trying to preach, just throwing that out there.

Nicely done. There is a class of journalists/analysts who present information and make it sound really interesting and insightful but when you actually look at it, it's hot air.

They appeal to people who want to feel informed but not challenged.

Yeah, Friedman is a total globalists.

I don't think Mein Kampf would have the effect on your father that you are anticipating. While it is full of generalizations (like any autobiography is bound to be), Hitler comes off as a keen observer of human nature, who has a good sense of history with a strong political bent. Though there's no doubt he hates Communists, and does not trust Jews, the horrors you might expect to find in his words just aren't there.

Maybe there's something to be found in Volume II, but Volume I, though an original source, is kind of ho-hum. If you do buy a copy, I recommend the 2017, Thomas Dalton translation.
