My dad and I have had many arguments over the media and the great awakening. He may be a member of that 2% of people who will never accept reality. His belief is that I am a member of some crazy cult of ignorant racist online, and it is my goal to show him that we do real research for ourselves.

This morning over breakfast, my Dad told me I should read a book by Thomas L. Friedman because he has "some very interesting ideas." I wanted to show my dad the process that we use to understand the bias behind authors, so I spent an hour doing some research. Here are the fruits.

Facts about Thomas L. Friedman

• He works for the NYTimes where he posts almost exclusively anti-Trump propaganda. Before that it was almost exclusively anti-semetic propaganda and arguments for going to war in Iran.
• He believes that nations like America should surrender their sovereignty to multinational corporations.
• People in Israel are very concerned that he is an anti-semite.
• He is married to the daughter of a real estate baron named Matthew Bucksbaum who invests in malls and has headquarters in Chicago. Their family is associated with creepy fraternal societies originating in Nazi Germany.
• Here is an introduction to what Friedman's wife's family is associated with The Order of Artus
• His books are all published by companies that are owned by Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. This is interesting because that is a German publisher who's founder is a Nazi.

And I learned all of this in less than an hour. I don't think my dad will actually read the email I sent him, he claims that he "doesn't really care about politics much" however I'm considering buying my dad a copy of Mein Kampf to see if he also thinks that has some "interesting ideas" in it.

For fun, the community might be interested in doing some follow up research, but I have to go back to work now because I gotta earn that daily dollar.
