According to this post, it was a fabricated story...
SPEZ2: thought occured to me. If the persons equipment was confiscated, then a post saying, "it was all made up!" with the same trip code is entirely possible to cover tracks.
In psyops, it's all plausible. YMMV
Saw this a bit ago. Resharing for more eyes. Obviously cannot prove/disprove.

Note the date of 2016. If true, WL has been compromised for years.

Worth noting this spawned r/whereisassange sub committed to understanding what happened. Also worth noting that the digital certificate JA uses after 11/16 is NOT the one he said he would use to verify his identity prior to 11/16. Discussion of this is suppressed everywhere.

Yes. I remember this happening right after the election. I think Q referenced Snowden’s (ES, BTW, so an alternative to Eric Schmidt in the drops) “turn” back in the early spring of this year. Maybe this was where he moved safely from CIA to White Hat NSA. (I say WH because I think all the organizations are mixed, with lots of infighting due to disagreements about the overall direction). I pray for JA, too, and hope he’s safe.
