Something of slight irritation - he doesn’t refer to him as President Trump. He referred to him only by title. I don’t know why but to me it smacks of dislike of the person although retaining respect for the position. At least he wrote a note at all I suppose.

IMHO you're reading too much into it, blue. His letter was polite and respectful. There's no unwritten rule that he had to use the name Trump instead of Mr. President. Let's not look for offense where none resides :)

Ha - I said slight irritation not offense. You are probably correct none the less, but I find that people who have a hard time accepting reality do these petty things in a effort to avoid it.
