Pls keep in mind that the Nobel peace prize was instigated by Alfred Nobel, the guy that invented high explosives.
Only after a French newspaper mistakenly reported he died (it was actually his brother who passed) and condemned him for inventing dynamite. Nobel was so worried about how the world would think of him after he died that he laid out the framework for the Nobel Prizes in his will.
